His main practice and scientific areas include aortic and mitral valve repair, minimally invasive surgery and fast recovery, trans-catheter valve interventions, surgery of the thoracic aorta (open, endo, hybrid), cerebral protection, endocarditis, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy surgery, surgical education. He is author or co-author of >200 publications; he lectures nationally and internationally and hosts at his Center other surgeons to visit and learn minimally invasive techniques. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, practicing sports (tennis and skiing) and listening jazz pianists.
